Bathroom Makeover

During their Thanksgiving visit, Catherine & Weston were kind enough to be slave laborers at our house...they painted the living room and the small downstairs bathroom. Both were in need of a little TLC. It may be hard to tell from the pictures, but the bathroom walls are now a lovely shade of grey, the hardware is now black (instead of brass) and this room makes me smile every time I see it. :)

I made this "print" last week - glued scrapbook paper to a canvas frame and drew on the braches and birds (bird outline traced from images online). I am quite happy with my new chic guest bathroom. Thanks Catherine & Weston...you are the best!

Christmas Surprise!

Today a very special package arrived in the mail from Will & Julie's family...a belated Christmas gift! Hope you can tell how much he LOVES his dinosaur pillow pet. Thanks Uncle Will and Aunt Julie...you've made this little boy very happy! ;)

St. Patrick's Day Fun

We took advantage of a beautiful day to drive to the Crayola Factor in Easton, PA. Spencer really enjoyed being able to "create" with a lot of different mediums. Afterwards we were able to take Scott Jr. and Gabriella out to lunch. It was a good way to celebrate Mom's birthday! :)

The World of Apple

In February, we decided to invest in an iPad2. I say "invest" since it does not come cheap, but some of his therapists/teachers use the iPad with him and we felt it would be a great tool for him to use at home. We LOVE the iPad and, for us, it lives up to the hype. Spencer amazed us with his ability to navigate it by the end of the day and he loves playing the games (which include some speech tools) and we love using it too.

In fact, I feel comfortable leaving him with the iPad while I shower in the mornings...and I love looking for evidence of what he has done to keep himself busy for 10 minutes (as seen below).

Apparently he loves experimenting with self portraits with the photo booth app. Apple...we love you!
